Obituary

Clinton (Clint) J Matlack of Marlton, NJ, died November 1, 2021. Age 94. He was the son of Joseph and Helen (nee Nunn).

Beloved husband of Doris (nee McDermott). Loving father of Judith Melnick (Andrew), Patricia Biedryzcki (Robert), Nancy Sheppard (John), Mary Pacifico (Steve), and Michael (Carol Sulock). Devoted grandfather of Christopher, Andrea, Alison, Christopher (deceased), Michael, Rebecca, John, Leah, Steven, Gina, Kathryn, Megan, David, and Joseph.  Devoted great grandfather of Jackson, Billie, Chana, Levi, Kevin, Abby, Rosie, Penny, Tommy, Oscar, Drew, Bennett, Sloane, Chase, Sam, Ellie, Arlo, Paisley, Kinsley, and Maya. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Clint graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Camden, NJ, where he played basketball and remained friends with his coach, Al Bass, often attending local college games together over the years.  Clint was a Navy veteran. He spent most of his working career at National Publishing Company in Philadelphia, starting as a clerk and working his way to sales manager.  He became great friends with many of his co-workers and customers.  Clint was an original member of St Peter Celestine Parish (now Christ Our Light), in Cherry Hill.

Clint was an avid baseball, football, and basketball fan and always looked forward to March Madness, watching his favorite team Duke.   There was no better pinochle player than Clint.  His grandfather taught him to play when he was 8 years old and he has played ever since.   Pinochle games continued just about every Sunday in the Matlack household with his mother, Aunt Mamie, and children all joining in the friendly competition.   He was delighted to join a group of card players at Brightview Assisted Living, where he lived his final years, and also taught other residents the game.

Clint was most proud of his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, dance, sing, and play in concerts and he attended most of their college graduations.  He was generous and loved to spend time with family, taking the whole gang to Disneyworld 3 times.
