Daniel C. Scherfel Daniel C. Scherfel of Wildwood, NJ formerly of Westville age 79 passed away on December 30, 2013. In his youth Dan always loved racing cars and hot rods. He also loved racing boats especially his hydroplane. He belonged to the APBA Racing Association for many years. He won several trophies during that time. He loved doing anything on the water, fishing, crabbing and water skiing. Dan served as Harbor Master on the Delaware and also belonged to the Rancocas Yacht Club where he served as Commador for 2 years. He lived in Westville for many years before retiring after working 34 years at Vineland Transit Mix as a cement truck Driver. He then retired to the shore where he enjoyed spending his time with his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends. Survived by his beloved wife Anita nee {Rossi}; son Stephen; daughter Debra {Warren} Sigmund; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters Joy Pekala and Winnie Scherfel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday 11:00 AM at the Ellis-Stiefel Funeral Home 301 Highland Ave., Westville where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary;s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Animal Welfare Society, 40 Rt. 47 S. Cape May Court House NJ 08210.
