Westville
Irene Elizabeth Nastarowicz
January 10, 1926 – January 18, 2025
Irene Elizabeth Nastarowicz (Nee Mikolajczewski) entered Eternal Rest with her Lord on January 18, 2025
Born on January 10, 1926 in Camden, NJ to Helen and Walter Mikolajczewski, Irene spent her childhood with six siblings. Irene later lived for many years in Westville, NJ with her husband, Robert and two children, Arlene and Robert.
Irene was a dedicated employee of RCA for approximately 41 years. She had a work ethic unparalleled by many and instilled this in others she knew. She remained a loyal employee until she retired.
For those who knew Irene well, they would say she had an adventurous spirit and savored each day, living it to the fullest. She demonstrated this by leading an active life, and enjoying a rich social connection with many friends and family. Her love of travel carried her to many exciting places, and she enjoyed sharing the time with her loved ones. Irene took much pleasure in telling stories about her trips and the people she met throughout the years.
Irene remained active with many hobbies, and one could find her in her yard gardening as many knew she had a green thumb and took pride in her home and garden. Her interests also included memberships in the J & R Young at Heart Club, the South Jersey Socialites Travel Club and the South Jersey Polka Dots Club, where she loved dancing, especially the Polish Polka. Her Polish roots defined her, and she was particularly proud of her Polish heritage and shared fond memories of her history with others.
Irene had an endearing loyalty to her religion and church. Her life was dedicated to her faith by worshipping at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Westville, NJ for more than sixty years, and as a revered member of St. Joachim Parish in Bellmawr, NJ for the remainder of her years. During her declining years, Irene continued to demonstrate her passionate faith even as her health weakened by sharing Holy Communion every Friday at home with her dear friend and Eucharist Minister from her Parish. She was loved and cared for at home until she passed.
Irene is predeceased by her husband Robert, daughter Arlene, and siblings Sophia, Theresa, Stanley, Walter, Eleanor and Mary. She is survived by her devoted son, Robert (Patricia) and three grandchildren: Kristine (Rich) Clayton, Rachel (Brian) Hall, Andrea (William) Bradshaw, seven great grandchildren: Alissa, Jared, Ashley, Jackson, Evan, Charlotte, William, and a great, great granddaughter Amelia, as well as an extended family including many nephews and nieces.
Irene Elizabeth Nastarowicz will be sadly missed, but she has left a legacy that will live on through the many lives she touched. She has made her family proud, and her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many. However, her spirit will continue to inspire courage and love to all who had the honor of knowing her.
