Joanne Ponto

Joanne Ponto, age 70, died on June 4th, 2017. Joanne was born on April 2nd, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents Thomas Whitehead and Mildred Gibson. She graduated from Gloucester County College with a degree in Nursing. She accepted a position as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Underwood Memorial where she worked for more than 30 years. Joanne Ponto was a great family woman and a loving mother. She married Lincoln Ponto in 1965 and the couple had 3 children together, including Richard Ponto, Brad Ponto, and Kevin Ponto. She had 9 grandkids and 1 great grandkid. Joanne was a woman who cared about others before herself, always making sure everyone around her was well-off. She was very involved in the church and served as a very devoted follower of Christ. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving person.

A memorial service is scheduled for Joanne Ponto on June 9th, at Southwood Baptist Church (11 Griscom Ln, West Deptford, NJ 08096) with a celebration of her life starting at 6pm and the service starting at 7pm.
