Margaret Sarah Fynes
October 6, 1949 - June 18, 2023
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Marge's passing after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Marge was a devoted and loving mother to her five children: Kelli Hampshire (Marc), Crissy, Bernard, Margaret and Jamie. She also had constant love and noticeable pride for her seventeen grandchildren: Ryan, Shannon, Bernard Jr., Gabriel, Angelique, Charles, Destiney, Dominique, Carlos, Mikayla, Jaylynn, Emma, Markel, Aidan, Serenity, Jaikaih and Ava and her nine great-grandchildren: Ryan Jr., Davion, Daelen, Rowan, Charles, Zahriha, Layla, Quasheen and Mila.
In addition to her parents, Charles Fynes and Virginia Reed Fynes, Marge was preceded in death by her siblings, James Fynes, Cheryl Smith and Chuckie Fynes. She is survived by her siblings: Nancy Donahue, Maureen Formelio, John Fynes, Barbara Marini, George Fynes, Cecile Malone and Charlene Dunphy. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Born in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia, Marge always held a deep affection for her neighborhood. She dedicated many years of her life to the Pennsylvania hospital network, where she worked as a cardiothoracic scheduler at both the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian. Following her move to New Jersey, Marge continued her employment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, now Virtua, until she began treatment.
Marge exemplified the values of hard work, selflessness, and love. She was an extraordinary mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always putting others before herself. Throughout her life, Marge's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Their presence filled her heart with happiness. In her spare time, Marge found solace in her garden and delighted in watching NCIS and anything featuring Dwyane Johnson. Her beloved dogs, CP and Shamrock, have found joy once again as they are all reunited. While Marge may no longer be with us physically, her memory will forever live on in our hearts. We will cherish the countless stories, the love she shared, and the impact she made on our lives. Marge's legacy will endure through the immeasurable love she bestowed upon us all.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Margaret Fynes's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org).

He Only Takes The Best:
God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you,
and whispered "Come to me."
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away,
although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hardworking hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
