Obituary

Mark Anthony Cannon, Sr.

April 22, 1957 – May 19, 2024

On Sunday, May 19th Mark Cannon, Sr lost his fight with Leukemia. It was a sudden diagnosis and he was taken from us too soon.

Mark was a friend to anyone he met and was known for always having a kind word about everyone.

He met the love of his life at 12 years old. He married Cathy in 1978 and they shared 45 beautiful years together. Mark and Cathy went on to have four children! Mark, Jr. (Christine), Janelle, Matthew, and Kelly Irish (Michael).  He is also blessed with two beautiful grand daughters, Bailey and Aubrey! He is also survived by his siblings Michael Cannon (Tracy), Sally Galm, and Beverly Mrozick (Ted) and brother in law Russ Riggins (Valerie).  While there are too many nieces, nephews, and friends to list, Charles (his nephew) and Mark Brasberger (Yvonne) were two of his closest friends. Mark is pre-deceased by his brother in law Ray Riggins (Nedra), parents (Charles and Francis), and fur babies Rudy and Digby.

Mark spent his days providing for his family as a part of the Philadelphia International Painters Union (Local 1360). He retired in 2010 and has loved spending his free time with his family and friends.

You could find Mark at any family BBQ, manning the grill in jean shorts, New Balances, and a Miller Lite in his hand.

Often Mark seemed to be a quiet one, making him an amazing listener, but don't be fooled too easily, Mark could talk about the good 'ol days with the best of them. He loved his family, fishing, the shore, Pink Floyd, the Phillies and the Eagles.  Some of his best days were at home with his kids, grand kids and an ice cold Miller Lite enjoying a game.

Mark was and always will be an amazing husband, dad, poppy, and friend. Thank you for helping us celebrate one of the GOATs.
