Robert C. Johnson, Sr. (Bob) ❤️

12/15/1943 - 12/21/2024  💔

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert C. Johnson, Sr., better known as Bob, who peacefully left this world on December 21, 2024, at the age of 81. Surrounded by his loving family, Bob's body, after a life well-lived, simply gave out.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Arlene (Boker); his son, Bob Jr. (Kathy); his daughter, Susan (Shannon); and his two cherished grandsons, Kyle and Evan Johnson. Bob is also survived by his sister, Patricia Heimlich (John), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Johnson, Dot Conlan and Margie Boos. Bob was dearly loved and also enjoyed a strong bond of friendship with his brothers-in-law, Chuck Boker, Buck Boker (Betty), and Bill Tortual (Eileen).

Born on December 15, 1943, Bob was raised in Gloucester City before proudly enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served his country with honor. He was a man of many talents and passions. Bob was a skilled ham radio operator - K2SJ, an avid fisherman who loved the peace of the water (enjoying trips with the Rio Fishing Club), and a handyman always ready to lend a helping hand. Above all, he was known as an incredibly kind and generous man, someone whose friendship and good nature touched everyone who knew him.

Bob worked for RCA as an electronics technician for 23 years before continuing his career at Sears/GE for 21 years. Throughout his life, he embodied hard work, loyalty, and a deep sense of responsibility to his family and friends. Bob enjoyed going to lunch with his RCA/Sears/GE work buddies after retirement and never turned down a Budweiser, Gin & Tonic, or a glass of wine.

Bob's legacy is one of love, commitment, and service to his family. He will be forever remembered and dearly missed.

A private service with military honors will be held for his family. ⚓️🎖️
