Obituary

Shirley A. McGlincy of Harleysville, Pa formerly of Paulsboro NJ passed away on April 11, 2018 at the age of 82. Shirley was born on July 23,1935 to her late parents  Howard and Beatrice Irving  (nee Faulkner) in Camden NJ. She lived in Pa. for most of her adult life but she always thought of NJ as her home.

Shirley attended Paulsboro High School where she met James McGlincy when she was a Sophomore and James  was a Junior. She caught his attention with her walk. James was smitten and they became High school sweethearts . On October 21, 1954 they went on to be married in North Carolina and then had 3 children together.  Shirley is remembered by her children as being stern and would discipline them by just saying "wait till your Father comes home".  She loved gossip and enjoyed  her Soap Operas, People magazine, and Entertainment magazine. She also enjoyed humor and could be heard laughing at a good joke. Her favorite foods  were cookies and candy.  It seemed she always had a cookie in her hand. Another one of her passions  were her trips to the beach.

Shirley's greatest  joy in life was her family. She was a loving wife, wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband James H. McGlincy of Harleysville, Pa; Her daughter Sharon (Michael) Sidlo of Harleysville, Pa;  2 sons James Jr.(Kaylene) of Manchester,  Maryland and Joseph of Las Vegas, Nevada; 6 Grandchildren;  8 Great-grandchildren and 2 Brothers  James Irving of Coatesville, Pa. and Eddie Irving  of  El Paso,Texas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Viewing on Tuesday 4-17-2018  10:00-11;00 am at St. Michaels RC Church, Gibbstown NJ   with her Funeral Mass following at 11;00 am. Interment will be at Eglingtown Cemetery, Clarksboro NJ 08020. In Lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
